The CLS G-3 in A-TACS AU is the third generation Gear Roll from Center Line Systems. Based on the original G-1 and G-2, the G-3 is slightly longer, has a small MOLLE grid, a newly positioned "drag handle" to help prevent the retention webbing from "slipping" off the sides of the roll, and now has two (yes, two) LARGE main pockets! The G-3 still has the two smaller "utility" pockets, an external velcro patch panel, four external tie-down loops and tie down/anchor loops on each pocket flap. It can now carry more gear and can mount to more surfaces.
You can fit all of the following in the G-3, plus a whole lot more - A 10'x10' tarp (or two); Bahco saw; wine box (small); sardine tins; signal mirrors; two 9 hour candles; altoid size survival tin; Jimmy Hoffa; cordage; Cinch Tight trauma dressing; lensatic compass; I.V. bag; tools; fire starting kit; M-4 and pistol magazines; signal flares; sleeve of crackers; tent stakes; UCO candle lantern; 30k emails (now level up to 60K); salt and pepper shakers; the smaller size Plano tackle boxes for fishing; steak... see where this is going?!
