New A-TACS U|CON [Universal CONcealment] - New for 2023
A-TACS® identified the essential need for a Universal Camouflage pattern designed for transitional terrain. As the landscape of conflict in the world has evolved-so has the need for an effective concealment system designed to function in a variety of operational environments. After two years of comprehensive development and testing in visual and Near Infrared Spectrum: A-TACS delivered with U|CON.™
The new A-TACS U|CON pattern was developed and tested extensively in the field with the assistance of Military and Tactical professionals. A variety of pattern color configurations and orientations were studied before arriving at the final design. Union of art and the science of concealment were both integral components in U|CON’s development. Part of the process was observational; through studying recurring shapes, tones, and colors in natural surroundings. Grouping those tones and colors in a very specific way creates visual confusion. The only limitations are the printing processes themselves, which are becoming more sophisticated with each passing year. “We are able to do more with tone, color and shading than we were in the past,” states owner/designer Philip Duke. The new A-TACS U|CON certainly tests those criteria by utilizing color grouping and segmentation of larger micro elements to further the original
A-TACS “pattern within a pattern” concept in a transitional terrain color palette. The additional layering of digital half tone elements assists in creating depth and dimension within the U|CON pattern.

Original A-TACS AU [Arid Urban] Camo - 2009
Original A-TACS AU Camo (Arid Urban) was developed by Digital Concealment Systems, (DCS) to answer the call for better and more effective camouflage system integration for Special Operations personnel in any service branch from military to law enforcement. A-TACS AU is designed as a universal pattern for a wide range of operational environments with additional supporting color and design variants following its initial introduction.
Many of the modern digital camouflage patterns currently in use by the tactical community have flaws. There are two major categories of Tactical Concealment camouflage systems that have become the baseline for the past half-century.
Digital Geometric-based patterns – Designed to blend into the “background noise” of the environment, the hard edges and pixelated shapes used to create the distortion effect do not replicate the shapes, forms and shadows of the environment they are deployed in-especially when viewed through optics. The ninety-degree angles and limited use of natural colors can in many cases, make detection easier making these types of patterns not as effective as they should be.
Organic “Blob” Camouflage systems – The oldest of the two classes of patterns and the most common, these patterns employ interlocking irregular blobs in variable colors and tones to simulate environmental terrain. The color palettes are often limited and the designs can be overly simplistic due limited printing and engraving technology at the time.
A-TACS Camo was the first pattern in a new class of hybrid patterns that fit into neither category and addressed and improved on the old style designs in three ways.
1. - Replace un-natural square pixels with organic pixels. Utilizing a unique process, we created a palette of natural colors digitally sampled from real-world elements in carefully controlled lighting. The pattern is then created using a mathematical algorithm that writes “organically-shaped” pixels using the specific color information given. The resulting pattern while still digital, is far more organic in appearance.
2. - Use small patterns to create larger more distinct shapes designed to work at a distance. Small shapes create larger shapes and larger shapes are organized into a distinct pattern with no horizontal or vertical orientation. This unique "pattern within a pattern" concept allows A-TACS® to effectively break the human outline at great distances thereby, minimizing the "blobbing" effect of other patterns when viewed from a distance.
3. - More effective use of color-range produces a better concealment system. A-TACS® is created using a far greater range of inter-mingled natural colors than was previously possible. The overall base color for the cast is a neutral tan which is designed for use in open, rocky or arid environments.

Original A-TACS FG Camo [Foliage Green] - 2011 - (RETIRED 2018)
When creating a green variant of our original A-TACS AU Camo pattern, the easy answer would have been to create a simple re-color of the existing pattern and release it as a green variant. Taking that approach may have been easier and faster however, it would not have been the correct way to create an effective temperate climate pattern. The characteristic environmental elements and shapes found in greener, more temperate settings needed to be addressed. The answer was to create a new pattern from the ground up.
Utilizing numerous shades of green sampled directly from a variety of forested and transitional terrain elements combined with various shades of earth, A-TACS FG Camo was developed to be effective in a wide range of temperate environments. As with the original A-TACS AU (Arid/Urban) Camo pattern, the organic pixels in the micro patterns are grouped into larger, more defined “macro” shapes creating larger more defined patterns. The larger organic shapes and strategically placed shadow elements within the macro pattern help to create a unique three-dimensional effect never before seen in a tactical concealment system.

Original A-TACS LE Camo [Law Enforcement] - 2013
A-TACS LE Camo was developed for – and with the assistance of – law enforcement professionals. Unlike our A-TACS AU and FG camo patterns that preceded it, This camo pattern is not designed so much to hide you as it is to make you stand out. A-TACS LE Camo was designed to serve more as a “show of force” pattern for specialized situations that require the use of Special Operations or Tactical Response Teams.

The A-TACS Camo "X" Lineup - 2016
In 2016, A-TACS Camo charted a new course with the the first part of a multi-phased rollout of a completely new concept. The "X" Line of concealment solutions was designed to afford the operator a comprehensive multi-environmental concealment solution designed to function in a wide range of terrain. The concept is centered around a new transitional pattern the incorporates an even mixture of green and earth tones designed to blend with a wide variety of terrain. The supporting patterns in the new line consist of new and enhanced versions of A-TACS AU and A-TACS FG-each pattern sharing common color with the other and a similar design to the intermediate pattern so that when paired together, the system will perform in virtually any environment worldwide. In effect, the operator can purchase one set of gear in the transitional pattern and simply change uniforms to meet mission and terrain objectives. The "X" Lineup is in short, one pattern with infinite adaptability.
A-TACS iX [Intermediate Xtreme] Camo - 2016
New A-TACS iX (Intermediate Xtreme) Camo is the first in a new generation of concealment from A-TACS Camo. New A-TACS iX is the flagship pattern a new “X series” line of camouflage patterns – the central component of a complete multi-environmental concealment solution. A-TACS iX utilizes the very latest in printing and camouflage design technology combined with the perfect blend of colors from the already popular A-TACS AU and FG camouflage patterns to create a pattern with vastly improved depth and definition.
A-TACS iX Camo also incorporates enhanced edge detail in the transitional areas between light and shadow within the pattern to create the added illusion of depth while maintaining the unique A-TACS Camo “pattern within a pattern” concept. New A-TACS iX Camo is best suited for transitional environments with a blended mix of intermediate greens and desert tans.

A-TACS LE-X [Law Enforcement Xtreme] Camo - 2017
A-TACS LE-X (Law Enforcement Xtreme). is a new and enhanced version of our original Law Enforcement A-TACS LE Camo.
Like the original A-TACS LE pattern, the new LE-X variant was developed primarily for use by Urban and Metropolitan SRT teams conducting low-light operations. The pattern is also suited to a wide range of other tactical military and law enforcement applications.
The Black, blue and grey coloration in A-TACS LE-X also works well with the black nylon gear utilized by many SRT personnel, which allows for easier integration into service.
A-TACS LE-X can be found on a wide range of uniform and nylon gear options from our CORE group of A-TACS Camo brand partners including TRU-SPEC, Tactical Tailor, OPS Gear, Tactical Performance Corp. and others.

A-TACS AT-X [Arctic Tundra Xtreme] Camo - 2017
Designed to blend with arctic and snow covered environments, A-TACS AT-X combined subtle grey and blue tones over and ice-white background to create the ultimate concealment solution for overwhites and insulated gear. AT-X is also available on select Nylon Gear from many of the A-TACS Camo CORE Elite Brand Partners.

A-TACS Ghost - 2018
Ghost is a new pattern derived from both A-TACS iX and LE-X. Ghoste is designed and a tactical option for Military, Government and Law Enforcement Urban Operations.
Ghost combined eleven variable shades of neutral grey that not only gives it and aggressive look, but is also very effective in urban settings. Look for A-TACS Ghost on a wide variety of gear from select A-TACS Camo CORE Elite brand Partners in late 2017.

A-TACS TD-X - 2017
New A-TACS TD-X was developed using the same proprietary process we used to develop all of our higlhly effective Tactical Concealmmet solutions. The specific color palette of TD-X is designed to effectively conceal and break the human outline in a wide variety of environments. From deep back country rocky terrain to autumn and winter forested tree lines.
A-TACS TD-X utilizes a combination of natural grey, brown and green organically shaped pixels segmented into variable micro and macro patterns with a wide contrast range to blend effortlessly into virtually any surrounding. We think the results speak for themselves.
